At this time a family member was diagnosed with cancer. And how should one move about this problem to contact the Electricity Department which is close to Kadamba Bus Depot by compromising the health of the patient. To reach this department it takes 2 km walk on foot from the nearest bus stop . There is no personal means of transport to this department because the neighbours keep on fidgeting with the personal vehicle.

At this time a family member was been treated for Cancer and was admitted a number of times outside Goa [ Because Goa Medical College and Hospital does not have Oncology Department for the treatment of Cancer ]. I hope the readers would try to understand the circumstance. In this type of tension how can the patient or the care taker can ever spend the time to make a complain regarding this matter.
There are many reasons for the above because there are many anti social elements living in this type of society which are in contact with the meter readers.
There are about 6 meter readers (if i am not wrong) who takes the reading in rotation and manage their own records (billing / record books).
If we made an enquiry related to this problem than the person who handles the record (in the office) says that he / she is busy and if we want to get in touch with the meter reader than the office staff says that the meter reader is unavailable right now and he visits the office during the morning hours (at around 7 am or 7:30 am) and then leaves the office premises. They also say that its rare to meat the meter reader.
Suggestion
1) If the Government employees are reading this than I would like to make a kind request to them to have a Digital Billing System or Device (Billing machines) so that the :
a) Past meter readings would be in its memory.
b) Present meter readings would have to be entered to get the bill print out and also to store the present meter reading in its memory for further reference.
c) Aspects such as:
1)Date of Issue of Bill
2)Energy charges (length of period with date)
3)Due date of bill ( last date of payment)
4)Units consumed,
5)Average units in case of meter malfunctioning,
6) Energy charges
7) Meter Rent
8) Electricity Duty Charges
9) Sundry charges
10) Arrears (+)
11) Credit (-)
2) Request the Government authorities to kindly investigate why other charges such as Fixed charges, Fuel Charges, Domestic Charges etc are also been taken into consideration.
The above suggestions and requests are done by me by keeping in mind that I do not have any rights to order any Government authorities but I may have rights to request the Government Authorities for the betterment of the society.
